IMPLANT-RETAINED DENTURES

At the Dr. Nassar Clinic, our specialists offer you mobile dentures on implants by modern methods, with the latest technology.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The mobile implant prosthesis is the solution for the patient who has a low budget and who has been left without any teeth (total edentation) or who has a few more teeth (multiple edentation), and they have an indication for extraction.

Installing a mobile prosthesis on implants is an appropriate solution when:

    • Periodontitis is in a very advanced state; the teeth have fallen out or the remaining ones cannot be saved.
    • The patient suffers from various ailments (diabetes, alcoholism, chronic cardiovascular disease), but they are stabilized.
    • The budget is low and does not cover the cost of a fixed prostheses on implants or replacing each fallen tooth with an implant.

FUNCTIONALITY

The mobile prosthesis on implants is in fact a staple prosthesis, the replacement teeth being made of plastic or ceramic.

  • The prosthesis is fixed on implants through a "matrix - patric" system
  • It works in the same way as the closing / opening system of the staples on the shirts. In this way, the mobile prosthesis has a very festive retention on implants.

BENEFITS

Replacing all teeth with a mobile prosthesis on implants is an economical option. Compared to the fixed prosthesis on 4 or 6 implants, the mobile prosthesis is cheaper, but it requires careful maintenance.

The advantages of the mobile prosthesis are:

    • Stability on implants; it cannot be accidentally detached as it happens in the case of the classic prosthesis, which can always slip out of position.
    • It can be applied in the same session with the dental extractions (if necessary), or later.
    • Adaptability and permissiveness for patients with unstabilized pathological diseases and interdiction to the classic implant procedure (diabetes, periodontitis, heart disease).
    • Does not require bone addition, sinus lift or nerve repositioning;
    • Advantageous cost compared to fixed prosthesis on implants / method in which each missing tooth is replaced with an implant.

DISADVANTAGES

Although an economical option, mobile prosthesis on implants also has some disadvantages.

The disadvantages of the mobile prosthesis are:

    • Lower stability compared to the fixed prosthesis solution on 4 or 6 implants.
    • Careful maintenance; compared to fixed prostheses on implants, the disadvantage of the mobile prosthesis is removal and cleaning every night.
