DOES ZIRCONIUM VENEERS SUIT YOU?
Zirconium veneers are suitable for you in any of the following situations, if:
- Your teeth have wide spaces between them
- you suffered fractures (teeth are chipped / broken)
- the teeth have acquired an unpleasant color
- you have one or more unsightly teeth
- you want the veneers to be durable and to last you at least 10 years
- you want an aesthetic and durable material, the budget being corresponding to the high quality
Like composite or ceramic veneers, zirconium veneers rejuvenate the facial appearance and create a perfect smile. In particular, zirconium is differentiated by the following advantages:
Zirconium veneers require a much smaller tooth sacrifice than fully ceramic veneers, respectively the teeth are less polished, as long as the material adheres optimally to the tooth surface.
HIGH RESISTANCE, MINIMUM RISK OF FRACTURE
Even if the veneer is very thin, zirconium has a higher resistance than ceramic to the forces exerted in mastication. This results in a lower risk of fracture.
PRECISION AND AESTHETICS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL
The realization of the zirconium veneers through the CAD-CAM technology (computerized milling) offers a precise aesthetic result, eliminating the human error in the manufacturing process.
When we talk about veneers, zirconium is the longest-lived dental material, its lifespan being maximum compared to the other variants currently available. Thus, after performing the procedure, the zirconium veneer can last even 20 years, zirconium being the most resistant material at this moment.
The main disadvantage is the cost and this is because zirconium is the most expensive material compared to ceramic (porcelain) or composite. On the other hand, the procedure involves in addition to the work of the dentist the cost of the laboratory and CAD-CAM technology, all this leading to a price about 3 times higher than that of composite veneers, the most convenient dental veneers.
Before applying veneers, the teeth must be sanded. This procedure is always necessary for zirconium veneers. The same happens with composite or ceramic veneers, with the exception of No Prep ceramic veneers from certain brands such as Lumineers.
ZIRCONIUM & MINIMALLY INVASIVE PREPARATION
At the Dr. Lorelei Nassar Implantology Clinic, each patient is special to us and that is why we emphasize the quality of veneering. From the first consultation we determine the right type of zirconium veneer. We also avoid invasive grinding with minimal preparation, without affecting the dentin layer of the teeth.
